  • Cherry Blossoms (Page 437) is closed. We miss this store, Marcy had unusual gifts.

  • Harrington's of Vermont (Page 236) We regret to inform you that this wonderful gourmet grocery has closed. Unfortunately their three other retail stores are located in Vermont (see http://www.harringtonham.com/service/stores.cfm). Fila at 348 Greenwich Avenue has closed. It was open about one year.

  • Party Warehouse (Page 167) Wow, that huge store once filled with party supplies is now an empty warehouse used for an auction gallery. Too sad. Happily we were able to find everything we needed for a large event at Strauss Warehouse Outlet (Page 168). Please add on page 168 the hours for this party store:
    Monday - Friday: 9 am - 7 pm.
    Saturday: 9 am - 5 pm.
    Sunday: 10 am - 3 pm

  • Tallows End (Page 490) Everyone is sad. Catherine Parker's lease has ended and she has decided to close this first class gift and candle shop.

Do you remember the shop called "The Papery" on Greenwich Avenue? It was a wonderful place to find out-of-the-ordinary invitations and greeting cards. The good news is- Jill, who was the manager at The Papery, has opened her own shop on Bruce Park Avenue. Her shop is not far from Greenwich Avenue. If you know where the Greenwich Prime Meats shop is located, she is right there.

  • Lacoste Boutique (Clothing, Men & Women & Youth)
    98 Greenwich Avenue
    422-0180
A French apparel company founded in 1933 that sells preppie, high-end clothing. It is famous for its tennis shirts and the company’s logo, a green crocodile. I couldn’t resist their white tennis sweater. The founder, René Lacoste, was a famous French tennis player who achieved fame at tennis as well as in fashion. The family still owns control of the company.

  • Mint (Consignment)
    253 Mill Street, Byram
    532-0200
A real find. Who would be believe this trendy shop is a consignment shop. Their title mint condition describes their selections. Catering to Children and young adults, this is a great place to find a brand name sweater, boys jacket or a party dress. The preppie little dress I bought for 3-year old Morgan, was a sample and had never been worn.

    629-1000
Two companies combined to provide Greenwich with high end hardware and fixtures. Conveniently located next to one of our favorite stores, Rue Faubourg St. Honore which sells antique home accessories. Nanz has their own plant in Brooklyn, where they turn out beautiful, high end hardware as well as custom designs. Remains sells antique lighting but also has its own factory, where they produce high quality lighting fixtures both original and based on classic designs.
    Hours: Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 6 PM.

  • Patti's Portico (Furniture restoration)
    140 Highland Street, Portchester NY
    (203) 869-6227
Is it possible Patti's Portico has been there over 10 years and I am just now discovering it? My garden chair needed restrapping and Patti did a great job. Her showroom is filled with refurbished outdoor furniture to buy. This shop is easy to find, it is just off Main Street in Port Chester.

  • Mark Mariani's Garden Center and Cafe
    45 Bedford Road, Armonk NY
    (914) 273-3083
